how to report something here that infringes your copyright, and how to answer a report.last updated oct 21, 2026

our policy

we respect copyright and answer valid notices under the us digital millennium copyright act (DMCA, 17 u.s.c. §512), brazil's copyright law (lei 9.610/1998) and marco civil da internet (lei 12.965/2014), and the EU's digital services act (regulation 2022/2065, art. 16). you don't need a lawyer to send one.

send a notice

email [email protected]with the subject "copyright notice" and include:

  • the work you say is infringed (a link or a description).
  • the exact link of each page or file on baston.dev you want removed.
  • your name, postal address, phone number and email.
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorized by the owner, its agent or the law.
  • a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner.
  • your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is fine).

what happens next

we review every complete notice and, when it is valid, remove or disable access to the material quickly, usually within a few days. if someone else posted it and we can reach them, we tell them and send them a copy of the notice. incomplete notices get a reply asking for what's missing.

music on the radio

if a song played on the radio is yours and you don't want it there, send a notice as above, naming the song and the artist instead of a link. we take it off the radio.

counter-notice

if your material was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, email us with the subject "counter-notice" and include:

  • what was removed and the link where it was.
  • a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  • your name, address and phone number.
  • your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, outside the us, any judicial district where we can be found), and that you will accept service from the person who sent the notice.
  • your physical or electronic signature.

we forward it to the person who sent the notice. unless they tell us they have gone to court within 10 business days, we may put the material back 10 to 14 business days after receiving your counter-notice.

repeat infringers

people who repeatedly post infringing material lose access to the site.

false claims

knowingly misrepresenting that something infringes, or that it was removed by mistake, can make you liable for damages (17 u.s.c. §512(f)) and may be unlawful in other countries too.

other reports

for other illegal content, such as intimate images shared without consent (art. 21 of the marco civil), someone's personal data or anything else that breaks the law, email [email protected] with the link and what is wrong. intimate images and child abuse material are taken down as soon as we see the report.
